About SWARD
Social Welfare Association of Rural Development (SWARD) is a non-profit working since 2010 to improve livelihoods across Bihar by providing vocational training, entrepreneurship support and community development programs tailored to local needs.

Statutory & Tax Exemptions
NITI Aayog
Registered with NITI Aayog to participate in central government development programs and initiatives.
Provisional 12A
Enables income tax exemption for the NGO and enhances trust with donors and stakeholders.
Provisional 80G
Donors are eligible for tax deductions under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act.

Short courses on stitching, pattern making, quality control and small-batch production for home-based enterprises.
Mobile Repair & Electronics
Hands-on training for mobile and small appliance repair with placement support in local service outlets.
Agricultural & Organic Farming
Training on sustainable practices, post-harvest handling and value-addition to increase farm incomes.
Digital & Office Skills
Basic computer literacy, MS Office, and digital tools training to open clerical and freelance opportunities.
Micro-Enterprise & Entrepreneurship
Support to start small businesses: business plans, microfinance linkages and market exposure.
Life Skills & Soft Skills
Communication, financial literacy, and workplace readiness modules to help trainees enter the workforce.

Skill Development Workshops
Hands-on workshops for rural youth in tailoring, computer literacy, handicrafts, and repair works to promote self-employment and local enterprises.
Vocational Training Centres
Structured courses in healthcare assistance, agri-extension, and digital services; trainees receive certification and placement assistance.
Women Empowerment
Women-focused cohorts with entrepreneurship support, micro-loans and market linkages to build financial independence.
Youth Career Guidance
Career counseling, job-readiness workshops, local employer partnerships and placement follow-up to reduce urban migration pressure.
Selected Projects & Impact
Village Tailoring Cluster — Patna
SWARD established a cluster of 12 home-based tailoring units, trained 40 women, provided sewing machines and connected them with local retailers. Within 6 months 65% reported increased household income.

Rural Tech Lab — Purnea
Set up a community tech lab focused on basic computing and mobile repair. The lab trained 55 youth in a six-month program and placed 15 in service centers and local shops.
Outcomes
- 55 trainees certified
- 15 direct placements & 10 micro-enterprises started
- Ongoing support for maintenance & spare parts supply
Impact: Local technical capacity and employment opportunities for young people.
